| HAWAN & PUJA |
| |
Pujas (rituals) are performed twice daily in the Asan Mandir (ashram temple) On special occassions or by arrangement as special fire ceremony known as HAWAN or YAJNA will be organized, when possible presided over by Siddh Surajnath Yogi himself. YAJNA is a tantric ritual of deep symbolic significance, one of the most comen rituals in Indian culture. HAWAN is essentially a purifying ritual. Just as fire purifies every thing it touches, so we perform YAJNA that our lives may be made pure. As we place the offerings into the flames, we symbolically offer all our “ impurities”- our anger, our greed, our jealousy, our grudges, our pains and all our mental tensions. The burden of our past deeds is burnt away, and we pray to God to make our lives as pure as the ghee (clarified butter) we pour onts the flames. |
| |
The YAJNA also reminds us to give, give and give. Mantras and shlokas are chanted, ending “Idom Namamah, Idom Namamah” meaning “Not for me, but for you”, reminding us that everything we do in life should be for other, for the world, for God. This is the root of yajna and the root of happiness in life. We sit around the YAJNA to remind to keep God and purity in the center of our lives with God in the center, we should after every breath, every word, every action and every thought to him. |
| |
As the flames of a five rise higher and higher, so we pray that God may carry our lives ever higher, closer and closer to his divine abode. |
| |
HAWAN or YAJNA leaves the environment of the surrounding area purified energized and Spiritually enriched. |

| SPIRITUAL SATSANG |

| ENVIRONMENT CONSERVATION |
| |
In shri jasnath asan one of our primary concerns is to live according to the yogic principle of AHIMSA which means “non – violence”. |
| |
In this we are inspired by SHRIDEV JASNATH JI, the founding of our spiritual movement. He teacher us to cultrate our best and noblest impulses. As we one all really aspects of a single whole or unity, if we injure other people, animals or any living thing, or damage the environment, we are actually only hurting our selves. SHRIDEV JASNATH JI explains poetically in one BHAJAN or spiritual song: |
| |
“ God has given us cows, buffaloes, sheep and goats, to provide milk to nourish us. We should regard this milk as divine nectar. |
| |
It you think it to be a good thing to chop off the head of these animals for slaughter, then you may as well chop off your own head.” |
