Adhyatm means spirituality and the awakening of consciousness, and yoga is the philosophical and practical system enabling each and every individual to awaken this consciousness. |
| |
The yoga system has been developed over thousands of years, emphasizing personal enquiry and discovery. It is the science of right living, and as such, it is intended to be incorporated in our daily lives, bringing about the evolution of all aspects of our lives: the physical, mental, vital, emotional and spiritual. |

| |
The word “yoga” is derived from the Sanskrit root “yuj” which means to yoke, to get hold of, to bind and integrate. It means getting hold of our lives and concentrating all of our energy in order to integrate all aspects of life in search of the ultimate truth. This integration leads toward the union of the individual consciousness with the universal consciousness or god, which brings with it the realization that we are not separate from one another but are all aspects of a common whole. |

Yoga is a practical system, enabling us to balance and harmonize our bodies with our minds, emotions, spirits and society. The body is the vehicle through which we experience the material universe. |
| |
It is there fore important to care for and nurture it through right living so that helps give us ANAND (joy) in life allowing us to progress on our spiritual path. |
| |
Because of the marvels of body and mind control instilled by its practice, physical and mental therapy is one of yoga’s most important achievements. According to medical science, yoga therapy owes its success largely to the balance created in the nervous and endocrine systems which directly influence all the other systems and organs of the body. |

The resulting state of the inner tranquility, mastery and freedom from fear and anxiety allows mental problems to be resolved and brings peace of mind. |
